Question

Email recipient was not provided

asked on March 23, 2018

The email lookup from a forms user task is failing with the error posted below. This client uses active directory. The domain user for this service task has an email address listed in their AD profile. They do not however utilize exchange. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Thank you.

Hi Seth,

Can you try login with that user to Forms, go to Account page and check if there is email listed on that page? If login is not possible, you can also check the email on database table [cf_users], and see if the email column has value for that user.

If there is no email for the account, the issue may be that user email has not been synchronized to Forms. You can try synchronize again and see if it could get the email.

Hi Rui,

Thank you for the reply! I checked the [cf_users] table. All of participant user accounts ARE pulling an email successfully via LDAP add. The user accounts in question (Full named users, domain users/windows accounts) are not. The table value shows a "null" value for email, even after a sync.

For windows accounts, can you check FormsConfig -> User Authentication -> Active Directory domain controller and see if the option is filled? This option is needed to pull user email from AD.

For named users, the email is set on Forms Account page so it would be null if you have not set it.
