Task email notification not working

Before I start a case I was just wondering if anyone had ever had it where the email notification when someone is assigned a task was not working. 

The user has a defined email. 

When the task is assigned they do not get anything.

If we take the task a re-assign it to someone else, they get the email.

When re re-assign the task back to the original person, they then get the email.  It seems to be more than one person as we have tried many.  No failures in the Monitoring and the event log does not seem to not show anything.  I was going to re-build the tasks but figure I would ask first.

Chris, I get that problem all the time, but only if it is right after the initial submission.  If the process model has the form being submitted and right away goes to a user task, checking the email notifications box doesn't do me any good, I end up having to put a service task before it and send the email before the user task.  All the other ones in the process always work, but if it is right after the initial form submission that starts the task, the email does not work.  Not sure if that is the case for everyone else's installation, but even after upgrades that has remained an issue for us. If I reassign it afterwards, the email comes, but not initially on its own.

Well that's not good.  May have to start a case then.  I am double checking with the user but I have done tasks right after submit with email notifications many many times.  They do have a workaround with an email task but they want the URL hyperlink that takes them directly to it.

Good day,

 

I am experiencing the same issue. I already have a service task sending an email, however, users are not notified when a task is assigned to them.

 

This is not just for the first User task, but for all the tasks that are assigned.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I found if I remove attaching the form to the email notification, it works, but that's not my preference.

I have this issue when a task is assigned to a user who's E-mail address is listed on the form using a Lookup rule.  If the task is assigned to one user in the system, it goes through just fine.  The line to produce the E-mail address on the form is populating just fine.  It just doesn't seem to see the address when it is time to send the notification to the approver.

I had a similar error. When a task was initially assigned, the email was sent successfully. However, if the task was reassigned, or I clicked on "Resend email notification", the email didn't go though.

We ended up by changing the email setting on the Laserfiche Forms Configuration because the last one was being blocked by the network (firewall maybe).

We've changed the SMTP server, port, username and password.
