Question

Cannot import repository objects with Admin Console 10.3

asked on March 19, 2018

Hi,

I am upgrading a server from 9.0 to 10.3. I have installed the dev server 10.3 on a Windows 2016 server and I need to import the repository objects which I am doing by exporting them to an xml file from the 9.0 server and importing into 10.3. unfortunately in the 10.3 admin console, I am not able to import. Whenever I try to import the repository objects, nothing happens. The import dialogue box just flashes and disappears and does nothing. I had admin console 10.2 on my laptop and I connected to the repository and was able to import the templates, LF users, etc.  Any suggestions?

I also cannot import the XML of a user I exported in Admin console 10.3. Where did the feature go?

Hi Kenny,

Were you able to successfully import the repository object information after locating the option, or did you also have issues with the actual import?

I haven't tried yet. I ended up creating the few users manually and hacking the XML file to pull the attributes out and reformat them for importing.

I may try it with fields/templates today, but don't anticipate any problems.

Note: the XML format should really be the same for just attributes as well as when exporting/importing users. Its petty and a low priority, but it is inconsistent.

User export was something like <attribute name="xxx" data="xxx" />

Attribute export is: <attribute><name>xxx</name><data>xxx</data></attribute>
