Question

Send out email when form is over due

asked on March 16, 2018

Hi there,

I'm on Forms 10.2. I created a form that requires a supervisor approval. I want to send the supervisor a reminder if he hasn't approved / rejected this form within 3 days of receiving it. In my forms process diagram, I defined my user task based on variable of 3 days after the task was started (see attached screen shot).

While is does show this task overdue in the Forms Operational Dashboard, it doesn't trigger a reminder email to the supervisor. I've seen other similar posts on using a timer event for this function.

I've been researching timer events and you can tell it to wait for 3 days after a task started but I can't seem to add a condition of "if form isn't approved / rejected."

Any thoughts on how to send an email reminder to my supervisors when a task is over due?

Thanks!

Attaching a Timer Event to the User Task is what I would suggest.  Right click on the supervisor task, and click Attach Timer Event.  Then attach an email event to the timer.

In the timer configuration, set the configuration to be based on the task start date.

Make sure you set the timer to Do Not Interrupt Attached Activity.  If left on interrupt, it will remove the task from the supervisor.  Do not interrupt will live it with them, and they can continue like normal.  If you want to continue to remind the supervisor, use the repeat timer tool.
