Question

Images Not Displaying in Document

asked on March 13, 2018

Hello

We have a strange query from two users. There is a document stored on Laserfiche that says it is 106 pages. When either of them double click to open the document in either Laserfiche Pages or an external .pdf reader it only opens 92 pages. When the users drag the document to the desktop and open it external of Laserfiche it also only displays 92 pages.

When viewing the document within Laserfiche Pages and clicking the thumbnail pane button you can see all 106 pages shown on the right hand side, including a preview image of the images that aren't displaying within the document but don't appear to be able to open them.

A different user is able to open the document within Laserfiche Pages and is able to see all 106 pages without issue.

There doesn't appear to be any user rights issue on the document itself.

Would anyone know why the above symptoms would be displayed?

Thanks

In the LF document viewer window, turn on the Image and thumbnail panes

In Laserfiche, you have images and you have electronic documents.  the PDF portion is the electronic document.  If you Generate Pages, scan into, or copy/cut images and paste into the document, this goes into the image portion.  Updating the image portion of the document does not update the electronic portion of the document.  So if you add images, they can be accessed through the LF client document viewer, but will not be part of the electronic document (PDF).

This is normal and expected behavior.

Hi Bert

When you say open it through the 'LF Client Document Viewer' how do I check that the users who cannot see the images are doing this ?

I asked them to change Options > View > Open With to "The Laserfiche Document Viewer', but the images still do not display on screen

Only the other user (who I think originally added the images into the document) doesn't seem to have any issue

Thanks
