Question

How to create Field Groups

asked on March 13, 2018

Good morning,

We are in the need of creating Field Groups, which are advertised in this article:

https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013820/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-10-2

and I can't seem to find a good resource on how to begin building them.

The end result should look like something in the screenshot below, which comes from a post from Joel Duffield

https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/120821/What-does-MultiValue-Field-Groups-look-like#120824

Does anyone know of a good resource to learn to do this? At another post, someone recommended to search for a video in the Laserfiche tutorials site, but I was not able to find it.

Thank you,

Raul Gonzalez

UPDATE:

I found this article and it seems that it might have to do with my permissions that I don't see a Field Group tab. Will work with our internal admins to verify this.

Is your version of the Admin Console at least 10.2?

Thanks Miruna,

It's 10.1. However we were able to set the Field Groups using the Web Client.

I checked in the Desktop Client and it doesn't show the fields to be grouped, but at least it shows grouped in Web Client, and we can work with that for now.

Version 10.1 wouldn't know anything about features introduced in later versions. Is your desktop Client 10.1 as well?

Yes, I just checked. The desktop Client is also 10.1. and our Web Client is 10.2

As Miruna notes, as this was a feature added in Laserfiche 10.2, the 10.1 interfaces will not know what to do with it. This includes both being able to configure it in the administration console and display it in the Windows Client.
