Question

Deleting a document from a search result prompts errors 6000 and 1040 (also clear results)

asked on March 7, 2018 Show version history

After upgrading to 10.3, there are 2 users that are prompted 2 error messages when trying to delete a document:

The parameter is incorrect. Unknown error [6000].

The specified index is out of range for this collection. [1040]

The document does delete after you click OK for both the prompts. Also, a scary thing is that after they select the document to delete, the search results clears out, making it seem like it deleted all search results. If they click the Search button again the results are listed.

If we navigate to the folder path of the document and delete it there, we don't generate the 2 errors. It only happens when deleting from the Search Pane.

I have opened a support ticket 3 days ago with no process and now they are saying that this is not a Laserfiche issue and it is a Windows issue instead.

Has anyone ran into this same issue?

This is clearly a bug in the LF client but I am not able to reproduce it. The search results listing refreshes with the document deleted (it's renamed to its guid) and the context hits pane shows "Entry not found. [9001]":

Yes, unfortunately I cannot reproduce this on my environment either.

I have opened a case for this but there was no progress and later they concluded it was a Windows issue, which clearly it is not.. so we are stuck. I am not getting much help now from the case.

I am out of options on what to do and really need this fixed for our customer.

Any suggestions, Robert?

Enable LFSO tracing from Help->About->Tracing, restart the client, reproduce the issue, and attach the trace logs to the support case (then turn off tracing). I'll take a look.
