10.3 feature - additional password to access a repository item

asked on March 6, 2018 Show version history

Some co-workers who attended Empower 2018 said they attended a session that was mentioning a new feature of 10.3 that allows a person to set an additional password on a repository item.

In our situation, we have some users who share a single repository license.   They were thinking that the new password feature in 10.3 would allow another level of security if there was a reason why one of the users sharing the account should not access a particular file.

I've been unable to find any info on this new feature and was wondering if it sounds familiar to anyone.

Hi Paul,

Nothing comes to mind on a new entry-level password feature, I wonder what they were describing. You CAN store password protected PDFs in the repository, which will prompt for passwords on opening - that's not a new feature though.

btw - I would not recommend having multiple users sharing the same user account, as it throws off tracking for things like auditing and version history. I assume that's what you mean instead of sharing the same license. Either way.
