Question

Named Users, Windows Users

asked on March 5, 2018

We migrate from SQL Express to Full SQL our client got Laserfiche Avante
They have 10 Laserfiche users using  Windows authentication (AD) and only 5 full licenses, any ome up to 5 people were able to login.

Now with Avante they got 10 Named Users and they want to add another 10 windows users having a total or 20 users

They want to be able to have 20 windows user form the AD and 10 are able to login.

If we dont create the named user, the current users can not login but they need to have more than 10 user to be able to login, they want 20 or 30 to be able to login not concurrent but at least be able to login. using the Named User will not help.

Why are they users they have before not able to login without a named user?

Thank

Hi Jorge,

If you migrated from Laserfiche Team or United to Laserfiche Avante, the licensing rules are a bit different. Any user must authenticate via a named license. This can be a named user license directly on the user account, it can be a named device license on a specific client machine, or it can be through a public portal license in WebLink. If a user does not sign-in with a license affiliated with them, they are an unlicensed user. https://support.laserfiche.com/resources/3270/laserfiche-10-licensing-and-activation has more information on this.
