FYI - Missing users in Participant LDAP lookup due to missing email

asked on March 1, 2018

Just an FYI because this was a tricky one to troubleshoot. We had many users not showing up in the participants tab even though they were in the same OU.

If a user in AD does not have an email address, they will not show at all in the LDAP lookup for participant users in forms. They do show in ldap explorer, but just not the forms product.

More and more companies are switching to outside email providers like Google and not re-linking the sync to AD.

Chad,

I believe this would be by design since for Participant users, their username is their email address. If they don't have an email address, Forms has nothing to use for their username.

That was what I figured once we realized WHY they were not showing up, but it was not clear why they were showing up until we realized that.

Now we have the email addresses in there its good to be able to notify them of tasks. I really need to change their login name though. Active Directory was meant to provide a single login name for all integrated applications. This way they login to their Workstation, Their Email, Laserfiche, etc with the same login name and password. This is not allowing us to accomplish that.
