Question

Question

focus

asked on February 28, 2018

Good morning,

we just upgraded QF to 10.3.0.66 and one thing that doesn't seem to be working is setting focus to default field when document is selected. We also noticed that when I selected field as default and published session when i closed the session field was no longer default even though there was no errors during publishing. Last time I did it and I reopened QF field was still default but focus still did not move to that field when document was selected. We only have 1 field so I never had to do this before, it was just default.

As far as I can see this is happening to all 3 workstations that were just upgraded. Any ideas? All settings are correct and worked fine previously.

Hi Pieter,

thanks for responding and confirming bug. We upgraded from QF 10.1. For us its normal to go from folder to document in Document Revision.. we go to folder to look at the count of documents, invalid documents and pages to store and on to documents itself to fix/check.

When scanning we have printed cover sheet for the batch and on it lists number of tax returns so we compare that with documents to store to make sure we have everything accounted for.

where would I go to do status check on this or any other bug?

thanks

Amir

Thanks for the detailed response! I will comment on this post for status updates on this bug. For status updates on other bugs, you can make an answers post (or find an existing one), or watch our List of Changes documentation that comes out with new releases. This was our List of Changes for QF 10.3 <https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013907/list-of-changes-for-quick-fields-10-3>

Looks like the issue with focus not going to the current/default field only happens when you are in Document Revision and move focus (click) from the folder structure to document, once you select another document focus works fine. So moving from folder structure to any document, first time it does not move focus to field but once second document is selected it works fine. Clearly this is an issue with QF version. Can someone from Laserfiche (Miruna maybe) comment on this?

Also how does one downgrade QF? Is this uninstall and install or some other way.

Thanks

Hi Amir, I've confirmed your reported bug and filed it (ref# 75336). I would also add that the focus option works if you're clicking a document from anywhere in Session Configuration. It seems that the only click paths that don't work are from a folder or from the Document Revision Node.

Based on your question about downgrading, can I assume that this is a very normal click path? To go from a folder to a document in Document Revision, that is.

For downgrading, you can uninstall QF 10.3 and then install QF from an older install file (which you can find on our support site). Out of curiosity, what version were you upgrading from?

Pieter, sorry to revive old issue but so far this issue with focus has not been fixed, its now almost 4 months since issue was reported. I applied 6/25 fixpack but no progress on the focus. Any idea when this issue might get resolved?

Hi Amir,

Unfortunately we don't currently have an ETA for this fix.

So is this something that will be done at some point or there is just no interest in fixing the issue? Bug tracker was created.

It might be a small thing for you guys but not for us.

Thanks

I am having a similar issue in normal Laserfiche scanning since upgrading to version 10.0 (currently on 10.2.1).   I am using options in the scan interface to tell it when navigating to a document, select the current field.   This used to work fine.  Now, when I alt-rt arrow to go to the next doc the focus shifts back to the top field in the field list, not the field the curser was on when I went to the next doc.   Maybe this is related but it  isn't using Quickfields.  Any ideas on why that would be happening would be appreciated.  I have tried unsetting and resetting the controls, etc.

I verified that this behavior works fine in the current hotfixed version Laserfiche Scanning 10.3.1(.306). Please open a new post in the Scanning topic about this since this is a separate issue on a different application
