Question

Time-out warning and save as draft

asked on February 26, 2018 Show version history

Hi,

We have developed forms based solutions for a customers. The forms are quite long and the process is about capturing R&D work. Users typically takes a lot of time gathering info and then write/pasting it on the form. A lot of times, they have complained about the form erroring at the end because of IIS time out.

We have educated users about saving the form as draft as frequently as possible and have also increased the length of timeout to 2 hours. We have also written in bold letters in a HTML field that the form will expire and here is how to save their work. Some users use word and then copy-paste.

Despite our best efforts, some users and most new users end up loosing their form data. I am looking for suggestions. Ex: Is it possible to auto-save a form as draft?

Hi Adarsh,

@████████ wrote an auto save feature that we recently started using for a very lengthy form.
We are not in production with our form yet but in testing it has worked pretty well.
