Question

Workflow "ServerData" folder size is very large

asked on February 26, 2018 Show version history

I have one customer where the total size in the ServerData folder is over 7GB and another customer which is over 27GB.

Is there a way to better manage temporary files under that ServerData folder and be sure a cleanup is done?

I've searched for documentation on this but not found any.

I do see ZIP files dating from 2012 under that folder and up to today...

Please let me know how to clean this up, if we can.

I'd start off by looking into which folders in there are the largest using a utility like SpaceMonger or WinDirStat. There's probably a good chance if this server has been around for years that most of the data is in the SubscriberLogs subfolder. That folder contains the subscriber trace data and Workflow does not have a cleanup policy for it. Its contents can be safely deleted.

Thanks Miruna,

You are right, at one of my customer, 25GB out of the 27GB is in fact under the SubscriberLogs folder.

I could probably delete everything under "SubscriberLogs" that is older then this current year then...

I do see in the Workflow Admin Console, under Server Configuration, Advanced Server Options... in the tab called Log Files an option "Delete old log files" being unchecked.  Does this has something to do with these logs?

No, that's about the logs in <install folder>\Logs, it does not cover Subscriber logs at this time.
