Question

Question

Can you replicate my issue?

asked on February 23, 2018

Hello Laserfiche Community!
I've recently run into an interesting issue that is causing Laserfiche to completely crash. I'm attaching a video below, but what is happening is that when I cut a folder from it's current place in the repository and then try and paste it in a new folder tree, Laserfiche crashes.

I do not have this issue if I drag and drop the folder or if I cut the folder when I'm in the parent folder and then go to the new parent folder to paste it. View the video and see if you can replicate this issue. My client is on 10.3.0.457

Thanks,

Molly

I can't reproduce this on the same version of the client. Please open a case with support so that we can get a crash dump to investigate further.

Our agency just began noticing this issue as well. Drag and drop works without error, and using the LF web client also avoids the issue.

We have 10.3.1 and have noticed this issue as well. Not everyone cuts and pastes subfolders between two parent folders, but desktop client crashes for those who do. Drag-and-drop works fine. Does anyone have a solution to this yet? Thanks

Any updates/resolution on this?

Just had a user call about this issue.

Laserfiche Client 10.4.1 on Windows 10.

Cutting and pasting a folder crashes the LF client, no error message just closes. They reproduced on several stations and it happens on different folders.

Click and drag to move works OK on same folders.

Client was updated from ver 8.3 to 10.4.1 several months ago if that matters.

Attached Event Log screenshot of when LF Client crashes.

This is still very much an issue, we have seen it through the years and sorry for dredging up old posts but this has never been resolved before and we have another client with the same issue.  We actually run into it frequently with users RDP'ing into or using thin clients to access Laserfiche.  We even get it sometimes when we're remoted in through Logmein Rescue to our clients.  Can Laserfiche chime in on this one if this has ever been resolved or has any troubleshooting steps we can take?  Same error, same crashing.

For crashes, the most helpful troubleshooting process is to capture a crash dump: https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1012603/generating-memory-dumps. Support can walk you through the steps if you haven't done it before. I don't know if this particular crash has been resolved. I did find a related support case, and the customer reported that the application didn't crash when ProcDump was attached. For this type of error (0xc0000374 is heap corruption) there are additional options available if that happens.

Try disabling Clipboard History in Windows Settings.

Search for Clipboard Settings from Windows Start Menu and set Clipboard History to Off.
