Question

Email Archive 10.3 - Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

asked on February 20, 2018

Hi all,

I'm setting up Email Archive for a client to capture all incoming and outgoing emails. The transport and send connector have been configured by I.T and emails are getting sent to a newly created email address to be used. (Which I have entered into Email Archive Configuration).

The emails aren't being saved into the repository.

Event viewer error:  "Message: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."

See below:

Any idea what could be causing this?

Hi Shane,

What the type of the email server? Please make sure the emails are routed to the Email Archive machine. You can use the utility to check it.

Thanks,

Qinmei

Hello,

Was there ever a root cause found for this?

We are setting up a customer and getting the same error.

Thanks,

Jeff Curtis

Hi Jeff,

This did get resolved by the I.T company managing the Exchange, we are unsure what the fix was but we know they made changes to Exchange. Sorry I can't give more information on this.
