KB 1012907 missing

asked on February 12, 2018

Does anyone know what happened to KB 1012907 regarding the RepositoryUUIDUpdater utility?  It doesn't appear to exist anymore. https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012907

I need to modify a DB UUID so I can import a restored DB to check it's contents, but the original DB still exists.

I just opened a case on this recently... here is tech support response;

Unfortunately, you won't be able to copy an existing repository. You will need to create a new repository and attach a copy of the volumes from the original repository. You will also need to recreate the users and set up the security.

We had a utility that updated the UUID but it didn't work for the newer versions due to changes in the tables so it was pulled from the Knowledge Base. There are currently no plans to provide a utility to update the UUID for the newer versions.

Let me know if you have any questions, otherwise the case will be closed at this time.

Ross, thanks for the info.  So I guess because I'm trying to restore an older version of the database from a backup, I should probably go the route of just making a whole different LF Application server to host it on so I don't have to change the UUID (our RIO licensing allows an unlimited amount of servers).  It sounds like that would probably be the easiest solution at this point, assuming it'll work.   I'll post back with the results so if anyone else has this problem they might at least have a work-around.   Thanks again!

Yep, that worked!  I setup a new LF Application Server and was able to attach the restored DB to it without having to change anything.
