Question

Weblink image rendering issue

asked on February 9, 2018

I have multiple clients reporting that after upgrading to LFS 10.3 their Weblink has been having periodic issues rendering the image and populating thumbnails.  It has been reported by customers that upgraded to WebLink 10 as well as those still running WL 9.0.1.

Below is a screenshot of WL 10 showing the problem:

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

We now have a customer with LF 10.3 and Weblink 10.0 having Weblink stuck showing "Loading..." while trying to open.  The users can get in with the full client, but WebLink refuses to open.

This is a critical issue!!!!!!!

Hi Bert, did you find a solution for this issue we have the same behaviour with weblink 10 but only with IE 11, Edge and Chrome are working good.

Because this was a critical piece for their employees to keep working, we ended up rolling them back to WebLink 9.

Our client also reported that they were able to fix the "Loading..." issue by turning off Compatibility Mode in IE.  Apparently they needed to use it for older versions of Weblink, but no longer needed it for version 10.

David, thats it, you have to turn it off, if you dont so in IE 11 wont work but now we are facing a perfomance issue and a way to view the results in grid format just like the previous version, both related with the upgrade of weblink... support is working on them but we have to wait till the next patch to solve them.

Thanks.

I was working with one of our clients this morning who was having the issue.  We noticed that the Volumes for documents that we weren't able to view were different than for documents we could view in Weblink 10.

We determined that the "COM38" volumes were from before they did an upgrade of Laserfiche back in 2009.  The current volumes "COM000039" are the current ones documents are being stored in.

So as a test, we migrated one of the "COM38" documents into the same volume, which updated it to "COM000039" and then we were able to view the documents via Weblink.  We continued migrating documents and folders in the same fashion and found that it fixed our issue.

Hope this helps!

It seems on the volume permissions (and sub volume permissions) you need to ensure Volume security is checked off.  For some reason it only seems to be an issue on weblink.  Also, we have had issues with pages not loading at all and the only way to get around it I've found so far is to add as a trusted site.

Confirmed.

For IE 11, with Weblink 10.1 and Update 1 applied, you still must turn off compatibility mode (in IE 11) to have the documents load properly.  Just tested and this resolved the issue with documents being stuck "loading".

Otherwise, the good ol' workaround is to just use Chrome.

Thanks,

Jon

Any fix out there for WebLink? Thanks for posting about the branch cache issue.
