Question

How to use Directory Server and Windows authentication when there is no trust tree between domains.

asked on February 9, 2018

Hello all,

I have a client that does not want any trust relationships between domains. They are an office of education and some of their school sites are on different domains than directory server. What I'm finding is that without the trusts tree in AD, even though I have lookup service accounts in the identity providers, this does not allow for authentication from a different domain than the one LFDS is on. Everyone that is in that domain can log in with no issue.

Has anyone tried to setup Windows auth across multiple domains with no trusts setup?

@████████ were you able to get an answer to your question? I am wondering the same thing.

After a long support case, LF said it was not possible. Even though I can add these accounts to LFDS with the identity provider option, they won't authenticate to the repo. I'm working on other options now.
