Question

Changing cycle definitions

asked on February 5, 2018 Show version history

When our Laserfiche repository was set up, it was set up with the wrong month listed as the start date for the fiscal year. Our fiscal year starts in October and not September. When trying to change I receive an error message : Cannot delete or modify the calendar cycle because it is currently referenced by a records management object. [9196]

Cannot delete or modify calendar cycle because it is currently in use.

Question: How can I modify this date to set it to the correct date if I have objects that are referring to this cycle?

Current version is 9.2

I'm pretty sure that this basically means that there are Cutoff Instructions that are pointing to this particular Cycle Definition. You can remove the cycle from all of them, change it to reflect the new value, and then add it back the Cutoff Instructions. Alternatively, you can create a new Cycle Definition, and move the Cutoff Instructions over.

I'm trying to change my FY cycle definition.  I'm getting that same error.  I've searched the entire repository AND recycle bin and have changed all records/entries to another cycle definition.  I'm still getting the error

Cannot delete or modify the calendar cycle because it is currently referenced by a records management object. [9196]

Never mind, in order to update my FY review cycle, I had to temporarily change the "Period" on my FY cutoff instruction from FY to something else.
