Welcome! New Introduction Thread

posted on January 25, 2018

Welcome everyone! We've had a number of folks join the group in recent weeks, so I thought I'd restart an introduction thread for us all to get to know each other. This group is intended to be a forum for you to exchange ideas and connect with other peers in higher ed, and hopefully the introductions will provide a springboard for this.

Please introduce your:

  • Name
  • Job Title
  • Institution
  • Role with Laserfiche implementation
  • Specific use case(s) for Laserfiche (e.g., Admissions, Grant management, Facilities management)
  • Fun fact about you (optional)

I'll get us started: My name is Grace Ding, and I'm the Higher Ed Marketing Specialist at Laserfiche where I support and grow the higher education user community. I also built out a number of the higher ed templates in the Business Process Library - I love using Forms!

Fun fact about me: I almost shook Malala's hand once. I was in college interning in New York and had the opportunity to attend a UN event for young people that she was speaking at. As she left the stage, like fans at a rock concert we stretched out our hands towards her, but I was just out of reach, and instead made direct eye contact with former Prime Minister Gordon Brown who was escorting her out.

Not a terribly lively group, is it?

  • Glen Murie
  • Senior Software Developer
  • University of San Francisco - The private Jesuit one, not UC SF :)
  • Was brought in as consultant to fix a few complex and limited forms for Registrar. Showed them everything it could do they didn't know about. Hired on full time once I showed the time savings and automation. We now have over 100 Forms processes and tens of thousands of submissions per term.
  • Started with Registrar, then HR, then health department. The USF board has now mandated Laserfiche will be used across entire campus as much as possible.
  • I will be presenting at Long Beach Empower 2023.
  • Fun Fact: I'm pretty good at creating and painting scale model dioramas and figures.

Hi everyone! My name is Noël Hong and I work on the Education team with Grace Ding here at Laserfiche HQ in Long Beach, CA.  My focus is on K-12 Education as well as customer engagement.  I LOVE creating Forms for my team!  A fun fact is that in college at UCLA, I accidentally almost hit Justin Bieber with my car as he was walking in front of my parking spot.  It took me a minute to figure out who he was with a swarm of people following him.
