Question

Automatically create and/or subscribe members to groups in Discussions

asked on January 25, 2018

Is it possible to create new members in bulk as an administrator and send users a subsequent e-mail to set a password for their account?

Independent of the first question, is it possible for new members to be automatically subscribed/joined to their relevant groups upon their first sign-in?

For example, we want to on-board 50 employees a week and automatically create accounts and subscribe them to various groups in discussions. Having a more robust set of administrative tools would allow us to avoid having to train or remind new employees to add themselves to these group. And automatically subscribing new employees ensures that everyone who is part of specific teams get notifications from day one.

Thank you!

Hi Karen,

The ability to create new members in bulk is not currently supported at this team. I've passed this request along to development team so it may be considered for the future.

Regarding your second question, you can invite people who aren't on the site yet though email. When they click to join the group, they will automatically be logged in with LFDS.
