The search pane in the desktop client used to open to the last search used. For some users in version 10.1. , when the user closes laserfiche it no longer goes back to the last search but defaults to just pulling up "Common" with "Document Text and All Fields" checked. 

Is there a way to make this behave the way it used to?

Check the [Settings]DisplayedSearchCategories attribute for one of the problematic users, an invalid value might have been saved:

Try deleting this attribute and see if that resolves the issue. Also, the categories are only remembered when the search is actually run.

I reset the DisplayedSearchCategories to DivFolder, DivTemplate and that fixed it. Thanks for getting me on the right track!!!
