Security Tags for Groups

asked on January 24, 2018

Hello,

We are currently having an issue with security tags. It would work for Laserfiche Directory Server - Individual users but not for groups.

These are the steps we followed for applying security tags:

1.       Two new groups were created on LFDS- ‘IT Infra_VUMSPD’ and ‘IT Infra_VUSP’ where all the users are having full licenses.

2.       These new groups were added on LF admin console where ‘IT Infra_VUMSPD’ group were assigned full feature and privilege rights and group IT Infra_VUSP had ‘search’ only as feature rights (no priviledge).

3.       Security tag ‘view only’ was created on admin console.

4.       The two groups were given access on the client as follows:

·         Repository: ‘IT Infra_VUMSPD’ - Scope: This entry only- Rights set to all

‘IT Infra_VUSP’- Scope: This entry only- View only rights set

·         Folder A: ‘IT Infra_VUMSPD’- Scope: This folder, subfolder and documents- Rights set to all

‘IT Infra_VUSP’- Was not given any right on the folder

5.       When one user from the group ‘IT Infra_VUMSPD’ uploads a document via web access he is not able to assign a security tag to that document as he does not have any tag available.

The security tags are working fine for individual users but not for groups. Any idea how this can be sorted out?

Regards,

Vimal

  1. Newly assigned security tags do not take effect on the user until the next time they sign in.
  2. In LFAdmin, view the properties for the user, go to the "Tags" tab, and click the button at the bottom to view the effective tags for the user. Verify that they are actually inheriting the tag:
