We are working on a project to move the master copies of our policies and SOP's into Laserfiche. When we import the document into the Repository it automatically assigns it version # 1. If this was a new process that would work great. But these are "master" documents that have several versions already. Is there a way to import the document into the Repository and then edit the version number to match the actual version?

Answer
Cassandra,
The version number you are referencing sounds like it is Laserfiche's internal auto-incremented version number so it is not really meant to reflect a general version number from outside sources.
If you want to track "versions" from an outside source you would be better off creating your own metadata field.
The only way to change Laserfiche's internal version number is to create new versions (even reverting to a previous version increments the value so it is a one-way process).

Like Jason says, the version number is simply a counter and can't be modified. The version comments are editable, and you could put information in there that is more meaningful to you.
Good to know :) Using the version comment to notate any difference will work great since we can see those comments on the Versions tab.
Thanks!!!
