Question

Active Directory Synchronization is not working

asked on January 18, 2018

It appears that Active Directory synchronization is not working.  Users are in the correct AD group but the users are not being added to the list of LFDS accounts.

Is there a log where one can determine if there are any issues with the sync process?

Where is the AD sync configuration settings?  I only see the "general" tab with the domain name and servers.  I cannot locate the interval or the AD user being used to access the AD servers.

Thanks,

Hi,

Please find my comments underlined:

1. Is the AD groups are set to security groups and not only distribution groups?

It appears that Active Directory synchronization is not working.  Users are in the correct AD group but the users are not being added to the list of LFDS accounts.

2. You can find the sync poll interval in the directory server web interface -> Settings:

  • General tab to check the AD Sync poll interval
  • Identity providers to check the AD settings

Where is the AD sync configuration settings?  I only see the "general" tab with the domain name and servers.  I cannot locate the interval or the AD user being used to access the AD servers.

Do you have any AD groups already in LFDS that are no longer in Active Directory?  We found that when we had issues with syncing that we had an orphaned group.  Once we removed it from LFDS, syncs began working fine again for us.
