Question

Weblink - Password authentication secured?

asked on January 17, 2018

A Client has the following questions regarding WebLink,

  1. Does the web server handle user logins with credentials?
  2. If so how is password authentication secured?

The Client doesn’t want users logging in with their AD credentials using open plain text. Is this secured by default?

This is not a WebLink question, it's a web server security question. If you're not setting up a website to run with SSL, the credentials are sent from the browser to the web server over plain text. The default configuration for IIS does not enable SSL. See IIS documentation on how to set it up.
