Question

Corrupt local database file

asked on January 10, 2018 Show version history

Hello:

I was working with Xiuhong Xiang this morning at the Empower conference, and it looks like the solution to our issue with users being able to log in was a corrupt local database file :

C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server\lfsnu

The solution here was to stop the server service, rename this file, and restart the service, but I was wondering what to do to hopefully avoid having this problem happen again?

Thanks to everyone that helped me at Empower!

Hi Marty,

What version of the Laserfiche Server are you using? We've made some improvements in recent versions with regards to the local named user database file handling which should decrease the chances of needing to recreate it due to possible corruption.

Regards

Hello:

We are currently using Laserfiche version 10.2.1.953.  This morning, we experienced the same issue as last week, and the fix was the same - I find it troubling the issue crept up again exactly one week after the first time it happened!

I have asked our reseller to open up a support case, and I have sent him all three .db files for reference.

A support case has been opened for this issue. The thread will be updated when a resolution is reached.

Hi there, is it known as to why this would occur? We have a client who is experiencing similar issue of needing to restore the lfsnu.db file for access. They are on version ~10.1 and are pending upgrades. Would like to check if this may be due to an issue with the older versions.
