Suppress Field that was added in the workflow

asked on January 10, 2018

Hello,

Is there any way to suppress a field that has been added to my workflow once it moves into the correct folder?  I have a verify field that I add at the beginning of the workflow and I want to hide it once it's filed correctly.  Is there a way to do this? (The field is not a part of a template)

Thank you,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer

This can be accomplished with your security settings. If the user who has security rights to the document does not have rights to the "verified" metadata field, then the field will not be displayed in the metadata list when that user is logged in.

Thank you for your response.  The same users will see these documents once they have been moved so unfortunately I can't use the security settings as the solution.

Hi Jennifer

Another option may be to make two Metadata Templates, which have the same fields except for one having the additional "Verified" field as part of it's template. When the document is in the Workflow folder assign the Metadata template that includes the "Verified" field, but when the Document is moved to the final folder, have the workflow assign the other Metadata Template which does no include the "Verified" field.
