When is ScanConnect Required?

I've never been quite sure when a client needs ScanConnect.  Is it just required for certain scanners?

Hi Gail,

 

Scanconnect is required when you want to use ISIS drivers rather than TWAIN. Most USB scanners come with both options, TWAIN is a very basic driver whereas the ISIS is more advanced and let you use the advanced scanning feature such as double feed detection etc. providing the hardware supports it.
