Change tiff to pdf in the repository

I know you can drag tiff's out of the repository and convert them to Pdf and vice versa, also I understand you can save either pdf or tiffs in the repository, but is there a way in the repository to convert tiff's to pdf's without having to drag and drop it out of the repository and back in? Hopefully this makes sense.

You can automate the process of converting Laserfiche documents into PDF documents using workflow and scripting or a custom application (but either will take some programming), but there is not a way to do this out of the box. 

Is there a reason behind your desire to convert documents to PDF in the repository?  There are many reasons not to use PDF as the archival format for your documents, so it would be very interesting to hear why PDF as the back-end format is so important to you for archival.

The only reason as why we would want to do that is some of our employees would need to do this but not all because of how they do their job. But your answer makes sense to me.
