Refine search in Web Access...

asked on December 14, 2017

Is there a refine search in Web Access 10.x? Because I'm not able to find it in Web Client 10.2 and 10.3 either.

i.e. Just like the refine search in Laserfiche Client!

After you run a search, clicking the "Advanced" button will bring up the search dialog with the current parameters loaded.  You can refine the results by adding additional constraints.

Hello,

I have a customer who would like to be able to refine Common search in the Web Client, but it seems that once you do the initial search, you are not able to define a 2nd Common search to "Refine" the 1st common search.

This functionality does work in the Thick Client.

Example:

1. In the Web Client search for a word "street", get a number of hits

2. Refine the search by clicking on Advanced.  If we choose Common again then it resets the search for the new common word

Example 2:

1. In the Thick Client search for same word  "street", get a number of hits

2. Refine the search by clicking on Refine Results.  You are then able to change the word from the original search hit, to a new word, which will pare down the original search, based off of the new word.

The only other way I see this possibly working would be to use the Search Syntax option, but the customer would like to be able to use the same "Refine" process you have in the Web Client, that is available in the Thick Client.

Thanks for any assistance,

Jeff Curtis
