Quick Fields and workflow - not supported in Quick Fields Scanning

I'm trying to set up a Quick Fields session with a Workflow at the end.  While configuring, I get this message:  "Starting a workflow is only supported in Quick Fields.  It is not supported in Quick Fields Scanning."  

What is the difference and why won't this work for me?

Quick Fields Scanning is an optional separate desktop application introduced in Quick Fields 10 for use with the Quick Fields Server. If you are not using these new components, then you can simply ignore this message, and running a Workflow should work as expected.

I am not using the new Server options.  I just have the stand-alone desktop Quick Fields and it has the tab for Workflow.  So, are you saying I should I be able to do this?

Yes, you should be able to do this. You can simply click OK to dismiss the message and continue configuring the Workflow information.

I'm wondering if it is because there are no parameters set.  I can't even get into that part to see what it's looking for:
