Question

Remove Old Server Names from Workflow Designer

asked on December 8, 2017

I am using Workflow Designer 10.2.0.216.  When we upgraded from Version 9 to Version 10, we also moved to new servers.  After the upgrade I went through and connected to all the new server names in the Choose Workflow Server dialog box.  Can anyone give me a hint on how to remove the old server names?  Not a big deal to have them there but I want to clean things up.

I have gone into Tools/Options and workflow connection profiles.  This is not the location I need.  I have looked in the registry key on my computer and do not see a setting for the server names.

Thanks.

Close the Designer and delete the file. Then reopen the Designer (and it will regenerate the file).

One thing to note, though, is that Workflow will poll the network for Workflow Servers, so if the old servers are still running, they'll appear in the list again.

The list gets cached locally for the user in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Laserfiche\WF\ServerCacheFile.txt

Do I need to clear my cache or something after changed the txt file?  I go into the text file and remove the old servers and save the file.  I reopen the file and it only shows the current servers.  I open workflow and try to choose a server and the whole list is still there.  I go back to the txt file and all the old servers are back on it.

I also tried changing the txt file then restarting my computer.  Same thing happened.

Hi Miruna,

Is the list cached somewhere else? I had a user type in the server name incorrectly and she wants to get rid of it. I deleted the file as you instructed, but when I open designer again the list regenerates with the name of the server which doesn't even exist.

Good question. You also want to remove C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Laserfiche\Laserfiche.Workflow.Desig_StrongName_muzewfif0xyihnye3w32xtk44w2p0pkg\8.3.0.0\user.config

Or at least clear the misspelled name from the list under <setting name="WorkflowServerList" serializeAs="Xml">
