Question

Email a shortcut to a search result

asked on December 7, 2017

I have documents that need to be approved. I tag them with a "needs approval" tag. I want to send one email with one link to the approver. A bunch of links would be confusing and I'm trying to do this without sending dozens of emails.

I want my workflow to email a link to a search result of all documents with the "needs approval" tag.

I have everything worked out except how to generate a shortcut to a search result.

I appreciate any help!

I think what you are chasing isn't so much a shortcut as it is a link. You can use webaccess url's to view almost anything. Here is an example:

http://server/laserfiche/index.aspx?db=RepositoryName#view=search;search={SearchCode}

If you fill in server and RepositoryName with your instances values and then for the searchcode swap it out for something like LF:Tags="Needs Approval" you should be on the right track.

Hope that helps :)

We use the Laserfiche client. Is there a way to do this with the Laserfiche client?
