Assign the default template 'Credit' to all Credit users

posted on December 6, 2017

Hi all,

I want to know if a user is assigned to have only one template entry access (for instance, Credit in my screenshot). Is it possible to have the default template 'Credit' assigned to all Credit Users instead of the user choosing the Credit template? Please note that same should be applied to WebAccess, Client and import via LF/Office plugin.

I'm trying to do something very similar. Our VAR set up most of our file structure but we're hoping to finish it in house. They set up default templates for us that vary depending on the folder (i.e. screenshot below):

I checked the options from the toolbar as you suggested and it appears as though the Template is set up to <Use parent folder's template>. This is the same at all folder levels:

I cannot check at the highest level, the repository level. I can open options as per below:

but when I click on New Documents, Laserfiche crashes.

I will note that some folder levels don't appear to have a template assigned so I don't know how all folder levels appear to have the same settings to import files but have a different outcome based on the folder.

I want to replicate what the VAR built for us but I don't know how to do this. Any ideas?

Hello Sheldon,

I have worked on the Import Profile but I am currently using LFDS groups in Administration Console. The 'Attributes' tab is not present for groups. I think that it would be best to add the AD users to the Windows Accounts and assign the template. Kindly advise.

Thanks

Hi Sheila,

Correct, there is no option to set attributes for groups. Yes, try your suggestion and let us know if it works for you.

Hi Sheila,

Yes, you can have import profiles configured for your users. Simply log into Windows Client, goto Tools -> Options -> New Documents - > Import Profile as per the screenshot below. You can now configure default template as you wish.

Then, to apply the setting easily for all other users, simply log into the Laserfiche Administrator Console and open the user properties. Goto the Attributes tab and select the Settings option from the dropdown as per below. Look for "ImportTemplateName" and export this setting. You can then import it into other user's attributes. You can also simply "Copy" and "Paste" this setting between users instead of using Export/Import.

The same settings will apply to the users in the Web Client as well.

Regards,

Sheldon
