Question

Search repository using Date Token

asked on November 16, 2017 Show version history

I have reviewed endless Q & A's on this and I cannot get this to work.  In workflow, I want to search a repository and retrieve the entries where the creation date is 14 or more days older than the current date.  i.e. if a file had a creation date of 10/31/2017 and I ran the workflow, this file would be pulled as an entry.

I have created a Date Token as follows:

I am testing it on a folder that has lots of files that should apply.  Here's my Search Query:

Note that I have indicated to return all results.

The folder I am running this on has 292 entries, all of which would fall w/in the parameter of the Date Token, as they were created on 10/8/2017 or earlier.

Here is my Workflow:

When I run this, I get "There are no entries." under the "Entries" tab.  My "Messages" tab, however, says "292 entries were found" - ??

Here is what shows up under the "Tokens" tab:

... which is weird, because I'm seeing a couple of records in here, but in different areas (Walter Agra Neto and Sascha Zauner)

I ultimately need to pull the applicable entries so I can email the folks involved and do a few other things (move entries, update metadata), but it looks like I'm not getting the entries I'm looking for - or am I?  The messages on the results page are very confusing:

 versus

 I

Any help would be vastly appreciated!

p.s. just added an email task and reran - got one email regarding Sascha Zauner.  So it looks like there is something I'm doing that is restricting my output.

Search results does not track it's entries because there could be thousands of them. But if you look in your screenshot, the "iteration" token for For Each Entry has a value of 292, so the activity went through all you search results.

Hi Miruna -

Turns out I needed to have my email task in the "For Each Entry" loop to "see" the results.  Upon further testing, it is now working beautifully.  I must say that the "There are no entries." message is still disconcerting surprise.  Thanks for taking the time to read my question and respond, I appreciate it!
