Question

Public Portal & forms standard 10

asked on November 12, 2017

We are currently running Laserfiche 10 with the public portal.  Is there any way that we could upload documents through an LF portal logon?  Could we use the standard version of forms on the portal and have the user log in to submit their documents?

Thank you,

Jennifer

We do something similar on our Public Portal.
On our form we ask for a username and password and validate that in the Business Process via a workflow.   If it validates we process the form, otherwise it is discarded.   We did have to setup a small database for this since we did not want to use the actual windows credential password.   A secondary form that is available internally only, allows users to register for the form service and maintain their password/account info by updating the database.   It's a one-off solution, but has worked great.

Hi Jennifer,

If you are using Public Portal, you can upload files into the Form as you require.

If you are asking users to login with a username and password to submit a form (this is based on private forms and not public).

Public Forms does not require a user login and it is a link that allows anyone to access it and upload as required.

What I have done for a client with an implementation using public form is the following:

1. Have the form link embedded in the client Website

2. Have HoneyCapture enabled

3. Send an email to the submitter with a requirements to reply with a Yes for the form to be processed by the client.

4. If no response is received from the submitter within 24 hours, the form is rejected and the files are not saved into Laserfiche.

Hope this helps,
