Question

Forms login time

asked on October 31, 2017

I've been working with a client for awhile that has an issue with their forms login time. Once they login to Forms, the system operates a normal pace but the login time takes upwards of 30 seconds or more to authenticate. They are on the latest version. Is there anything we can do to improve this authentication time?

Jared,

I believe Brian is referring to a different issue. It's not that the login page is taking a while to load, it's that after the user puts in their credentials it takes a while for it to actually log the user into the system.

That's correct Blake. They put in their credentials to login and it takes 30 seconds or more to authenticate.

Hi Brain,

Can you tell me if the customer is using repository authentication or LFDS authentication?

Also, once the user login successfully (after 30seconds), how is the subsequent operations such as navigating around other pages?

They are using LFDS authentication. Once they are logged in, navigating around is normal (no delays). It seems to be limited to authenticating.

FWIW..we are experiencing the same behavior...long time to login, but after that performance is ok.  Using AD authentication...Also noticed going into Laserfiche Forms configuration, User Authentication page, it takes a long time for the repository connection to be verified (i.e. to get the green 'The connection has been verified' message)

David,

Have you found any kind of remedy?

Hi Brian and David,

I see both of  you are experiencing the same issue but the underlying root cause may be different. At this point, without seeing additional trace, it's very hard to tell. I would suggest to contact our support engineers to investigate into your issues.

Thanks!
