It's too early to talk about features or a release schedule, but we are looking at adding some RPA functionality to our products.  What specific problems do you have that you think would benefit from RPA?

well, to give an example of a use case, right now is somewhat clunky and complex using Enterprise Integration category functions in WF, e.g. HTTP Web Request, to perform "outside workflow" actions like logging in, checking information in credit bureau site, gathering scores, save the data to an external application DB, make a decision upon the scores, etc.

Right now, I do this by having an external (i.e. non Laserfiche) RPA application run this chores, because it is so much easier to design and maintain since that is the realm of RPA; nevertheless, I´d love to have that functionality in LASERFICHE.

If RPA type activities were added in LF WF, that could make many people's life easier (including mine) and prevent avoid juggling with two or more apps.

Brian, any idea of the time frame for RPA functionality to add to LF? You say "it´s too early" but I think RPA is really taking flight and becoming mainstream, and now some of our LF end users are asking about it, since they got the promise from RPA vendors that "it can be done at a so low cost..." and, here at least, there are some vendors knocking at customer´s doors... tic, tic, tic,

Wouldn't´t it be beautiful if we could do it inside the same LF platform they already have, very soon?

We are actively researching RPA and how it can be integrated with Laserfiche. We are interested in hearing from the Laserfiche Community about their need for RPA. Please let us know if you would be interested in providing more feedback.

Hi Javier,

As Brian and Cosette have mentioned, we are certainly actively looking into it. You're absolutely correct that RPA is becoming more mainstream and now is the time for it. Look forward to more information at Empower!

Hi Javier. If you are looking for RPA today, check out Ratchet-X in the Laserfiche Marketplace. Not only do we have an Action Pack for Laserfiche, but under the hood is the entire Ratchet-X RPA platform that provides attended, unattended and hybrid bot functionality. For more, check out www.ratchetsoft.com.
