Hi All,
I'm importing an email into Laserfiche with the subject RE: Can't LF: T151674 (与Alice的面) however it makes the entry name blank.
Anyone know if/when LF will support this strange character set?
Cheers!

I filed a bug report (#51999) to get this fixed. It appears to be specific to those characters. Chinese text is supported in general (e.g. if you rename the file to 示例文本.msg, it will import).
The subject should import correctly If the email has a valid encoding. Which application & version are you using to import?
Hey Robert,
It's just an MSG file that was being dragged and dropped from the desktop (or dragged and dropped from Outlook 2016), this is into LF 10.2.1.
I will email you the sample email I was using to test so you can have a play and see what I mean.
Cheers!

The problem isn't with the Chinese characters, but rather with the second to last character, U+F3AE, which is actually a special class of Unicode character called a private use area code point. It renders as a square in most web browsers and text editors, and Outlook displays it like a Chinese period (full stop), but slightly different. Laserfiche supports all valid Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters with a Unicode encoding, but it does not support private use area code points.
However, the application should give a clearer indication as to what the real problem is, and in this case silently skipping over unsupported code points when importing mail is probably the right choice. As Robert mentioned above, a bug report was filed and we will be investigating it.
Thanks Micheal
