Question

Difference between Database Drivers?

asked on October 26, 2017

Hello,

I have an end user who is setting up a test environment where they have upgraded their LF server to 10.2.1.

In there 9.1 Server environment, under Repositories>RepositoryName>RepositoryOptions>Settings

It shows the database driver as SQL Native Client.

In their new upgraded 10.2.1 version, it shows the database driver as ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server.

I have attached a screen shot to clarify.

Is there any way to change this? Is the difference becuase of the LF Server versions?

Thanks!

It's a newer version to handle newer versions of SQL server that the old version had some bugs with. Is there a reason you need it downgraded?

Miruna,

Thanks for the information! No there isn't a particular reason that the end user needs to downgrade. They were just concerned about compatiblity issues.

Seems like something else might have happened when the upgrade was completed. Our 10.2.1 repositories all still say SQL Server Native Client 10.0

I don't recall it mentioning anything about the SQL drivers during the install, but the most recent installs were just from 10.0 to 10.1 and from 10.1 to 10.2.1
