Question

Storage Space OCR

asked on October 23, 2017

Good Afternoon,

I have been running an OCR process on 20k+ documents and noticed that the hard drive space on the C drive is being consumed. The LF Repo is located on another drive completely. There hasn't been anything else installed on the machine that would have taken up so much space, I'm talking about 200gb's worth.

Is the default location for the files or temp files created on the installation path of the FTS?

What are you using to OCR? I noticed this thread is tagged as "Workflow", but there are no OCR capabilities in Workflow.

apologies for the incorrect tag. I'm just during it directly from the client.

That's unlikely to be caused by OCRing through the Client. Have you tried running a drive inventory tool like SpaceMonger or WinDirStat to see what's using the disk?

No I haven't but I'll look into it. I should mention I'm running it via the client on the server itself, would that make any difference? Are there any temp files created that maybe I can look at and clear manually?

OCR runs client-side, but no, that wouldn't make a difference.

Ended up being tracing was on for months and that's what was eating up the hard drive space.
