Question

Is there a way to reset a named user's password in LF Forms?

asked on October 19, 2017

Hello,

One of the users at my firm (and i'm sure more to come) has forgotten their password to laserfiche forms.

They were wondering if it was possible for me to reset it for them and I figured there was a way since I am one of the Admins in Forms. However, I realized there is no straight forward way to do this, I see some some articles that point me in the direction of the Administration console, but is that the only way? All of our users also has access to laserfiche repositories as we house all of our forms in there once they've been scanned/ electronically filled out and sent.

Thanks for any help! (I assume it's a pretty simple answer once it's known)

It depends on how the users are authenticating and what type of account they are using (i.e., Laserfiche account or Windows account).

I'm assuming it is a Laserfiche account since the Windows password would be straightforward, so, check the http://servername/formsconfig page to see how Authentication is set up.

If you are using Repository Authentication, then you would go to the Admin console of the listed repository, locate the user, and change the password.

If you are using LFDS Authentication, then you would need to change the password through the accounts tab of the Directory Server page instead.

Thanks Jason,

I will look into these methods and hopefully I can get that to work!
