Question

What Port Does Forms and Workflow Use to Communicate?

asked on October 19, 2017

When you set a workflow event in Forms to "Wait for the workflow to finish before proceeding', what port does it use to do that with? I am having a problem where after a workflow runs, Forms never continues on and still says that step is in progress.

Workflow and Forms talk to each other through their web services, so the IIS port (80 or 443, depending on whether SSL is off or on).

A follow up question to this, looking at the Default Laserfiche Ports PDF, it says that Forms 10 communicates on ports 80, 443, 8168, 8268, 8732, 8736. Since Forms communicates with LFDS, LF Server, Workflow, and SQL, do all of those ports need to be opened on all of those servers? Do they need to be opened for incoming, outgoing, or bi-directional communication? Just looking for more specific information on what ports need to be opened on what servers so the client is not opening unnecessary ports.
