Question

User rights change

asked on October 19, 2017

How long does it normally take a user's rights to change?

A user was just put in a new group. He was originally just read-only, but now he has been granted more rights, specifically scanning.

Everything has changed from the backend, but the client hasn't changed...it's still read-only and he was added to the new group about an hour ago. What's the deal?

I have logged off and on several times now.

Have you verified that the user has been allocated a full license?  If they are still taking a read-only license it won't matter what kind of rights they have in the repository.

Hi Brad,

Have you ensured that the user's/group's access rights are setup correctly on the relevant folders? That is, even if a trustee has the Scan right granted in the Admin Console, they will not be able to exercise it if they are not granted the Add -> Create Documents access right on the folder. Additionally, and depending on scope, if a user has an explicit "Deny" somewhere higher up in the folder structure (or even on the same folder), this will take precedence over any implicit or explicit "Allow".

This has been resolved.

It was a mixture of things.
