Question

making a form public

asked on October 18, 2017

We recently purchased the forms portal and have created a unique IP (e.g forms.mycompany.com/forms). I have made the form public in the access rights tab but it is still not "public". Any suggestions?

Can you please expound on what you mean by it is still not public?

I sent the link to my personal email account (yahoo) to test. When I click the link, I get a "server not found" error.

Can you get to forms.mycompany.com? If not, then it sounds like you have a DNS issue.

I can get there but my username & log in does nothing. And I have admin rights.

A few things,

  1. If you're using Windows credentials, you will need to include the domain with the username when accessing the external portal (i.e., DOMAIN\username)
  2. Are you using SSO? If so, you would likely need a separate STS configured specifically for the DMZ so it can be accessed externally.
  3. Can you access the "public" form from within the network using the internal forms link without logging in? If not, then it is likely still "restricted"

Thanks for your help.  Looks like it was the configuration of my IP firewall.
