Difference between 'child document' and 'electronic count' in folder properties

Hi All,

What is a real difference between "Child Documents" and "Electronic Count" in Laserfiche Folder Properties?

I am migrating files from a windows folder to the repository using "Import Agent". After the import, assuming there is no error should the number in "Child Document" be the same as the total documents in the windows folder or it is the "Electronic count" number that should match the number of documents in the windows folder.

If you're wanting to check that the number of documents imported is equal to the number of documents in the windows folder you'd probably be better off running a search similar to the below.

The number of entries found should be equal to the number of documents in the Windows "Properties" dialog.

You could also filter the search based on user, creation date etc.

It doesn't have to. Not all documents have to have an electronic document component. Some might have just image and/or text pages and no electronic document (Word, PDF, etc) attached.
