Question

Does FORMS Server require JavaScript to be enabled?

asked on October 17, 2017

Confirming for Army client that JavaScript enablement is required on the Server.  Their new policy has it turned off on new servers, and is a hassle to get clearance to enable it.  Just want to confirm before we go through the gauntlet...

Typically when people say "disable JavaScript on the server" they mean the web browsers on the server. That should not be an issue.

However I don't know if Forms or any of its third-party libraries rely on any server-side JavaScript run-time environment (e.g. NodeJS) and how that would be affected by the Army's server policies/software. I doubt it will be a problem but I've installed LF on some locked down systems before and it was always a hassle so maybe someone from LF can comment.

Thank you, Ege, and yes, we would still appreciate a clarification to the question as far as JavaScript being used with FORMS on the Server, and the necessity to be "on".
