What is the Laserfiche Web Access Extension for Chrome

A user is showing this extension in their Chrome Browser and asking what it does. I couldn't find any documentation regarding a Web Access Extension on the support site. I see a lot of posts on answers regarding the product and one that says it allows for drag and drop from Outlook.

What else does this extension do? Is there a product page for it? Is it something you need to install from the Chrome store?

It lets Web Access launch external applications it needs for your functionality, like Laserfiche Scanning or the Office integration.

Since browsers can't launch applications on the machine directly, it needs the extension to do that. The extension is available in the Chrome Store.

Can we download these tools without the need to connect to the Internet due to the presence of the devices in some sensitive places?
