No text generation

In the WebClient, I'm importing a pdf, but no text is generated when I go into the file post-importation. The text display is blank.

Yes, I do.  That's what's confusing me. Any other ideas?

Not all PDFs have text layers, some only contain images. So it's possible there's nothing for Web Access to extract. If you are extracting images as well, do you get the image pages?

So, apparently they were only images. But...isn't Laserfiche supposed to be able to read images and pick out text?  Why would an image-only pdf be confusing?

Reading the image to pick out text is known as Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR is not available in the web client.

Gotcha. Can I set up an OCR in QuickFields to generate the text?

Yes, or you can do it using the Windows Client.
